Greetings! I’m Sister Joan Miller, OSF. I belong to the Congregation of the Sisters of St. Francis, Oldenburg, IN. I have been a Sister of St. Francis for over 50 years and have had many diverse and exciting ministries during that time. Right now I am being called and challenged to be the Parish Life Coordinator of St. Vincent de Paul Parish.
My home town is Evansville, IN. My brothers, Danny and David still live there. We grew up in St. Mary’s Parish in downtown Evansville. My dad ran Miller Bakery and all the family worked in the bakery according to how old we were and what we were capable of doing.
My ministerial life since I have been a Sister of St. Francis has consisted in being a First Grade teacher; pastoral minister; youth minister; Director of Religious Education; RCIA coordinator; hospital Chaplain coordinator of ministries and many of them all at the same time. My last 9 years were spent in service to the Sisters of St. Francis as the Vocation Director for the Congregation.
